Rurrux Studio: The Ultimate Film Studio Toolbox

What is Rurrux?

Rurrux is the ultimate destination for watching, discussing, and creating film. We're a social film platform designed to make it incredibly easy for filmmakers and film studios to share, promote, and distribute their movies, series, and shorts. Whether you're working on a short film, feature, or web series, Rurrux studio provides the tools to manage your film projects and engage with an audience of passionate film lovers and creators.

We're different in that we're not run by millionaires, nor are we a festival looking to make money off submissions. We're just a group of film watchers trying to provide a platform for a clearly underserved group in an industry that seems to favor those with large enough pockets—all while growing a community of engaged film audiences.

For quite some time, I’ve noticed that there are loads of little obscure websites where you can find indie films, shorts films, and documentaries. But these sites either disappear like ice in fire or charge you through the roof just to be listed and gain a few views from their audience.

There are obvious exceptions, such as YouTube, but hitting it big on there can be incredibly difficult due to a number of challenges—its ever-changing algorithm, the vast size and variety of visitors to the platform, and the fact that it's not a dedicated film platform.

Where Do All These Short Films End Up?

We know for certain that there are hundreds of thousands of small to medium-sized indie filmmakers and film studios out there, not to mention the countless film festivals worldwide. But where do all these films end up? There hasn't been a collective effort to catalog them for the people they are targeted toward—film watchers.

We've noticed that these smaller film services and sites focus solely on getting filmmakers to upload their work and be done with it. While this might seem like the right approach at first, and they might accumulate a decent-sized catalog of shorts, they often fall short when it comes to getting films into the right hands.

That’s why we believe in taking a different approach. More than anything, filmmakers want their passion projects to be seen and recognized, leading to potential deals. This is why so many of us submit to film festivals and try to market our work—because we want an audience. However, these efforts often miss the mark because they don’t target the right people: mainstream film watchers.

What Rurrux Aims to Do

That’s where Rurrux comes in. We are NOT a film festival or just another short film catalog. We are a dedicated film platform tailored to all film watchers—not just indie filmmakers. We're using our passion and drive for all films, both small and large, to build out innovative and novel services, such as Public Cinema and IndieVision, that will attract a large audience and give short films the attention they deserve from the entire film community.

Our mission is to break down the barriers to entry that the film industry has put up and to give filmmakers and film studios the tools and platform they need to truly gain recognition for their work. We want your work to be seen.

Check out Rurrux Studio to get your film catalogued and join us in creating a film community that supports the average filmmaker and studio - not shut them out.
